Learning from failure ought to be easy. We make a mistake, look thoughtfully for causes, ask our buddies for advice, and try it differently. But failure, it turns out, freaks us out, especially when we are new to a field. That might explain why agile transformations fail at a very high rate, even though the benefits of agile are well studied. Folks in an agile transformation are new to agile, and little failures at the beginning can lead them to run away.
In this episode of the Mindful Agility Podcast, Dan Dickson and Dan R Greening talk about a recently published paper, "You Think Failure is Hard? So is Learning from It." We discuss how the paper's insights suggest changes to typical agile practice.

We are especially grateful for beta reviewers Starlette Ruff, Jeff Stuit, Yi Wen, Linda Cook, Amelia Hambrecht, RN, Eric Squires, and Divya Talajia Maez. It's a record number of reviewers, so we're guessing learning from failure is a hot topic. *I* certainly have a lot to learn!
